What is the purpose of photography? I rekindled my interest in photography sometimes two years ago. I was looking for ways to engage my son. Looking for ways and activities to engage and spend some bonding time. During the school holidays I decided to sign up and join him for a photography course. The cost not only spark the interest of the young Padawan to pick up the photography but also away for us to spend more time taking photo walks. Picking up the course and starting photography again has done myself much good. I reed a new hobby that I loved since I was 13 age though I didn’t have a father who did photo walks with me. Since I started, I started to do photography on a regular basis taking photo walks and photos almost on a daily basis. What photography has taught me so far is to build my observation and sensitivity to things around me. It also gave me the opportunity to be curious and learn new things true physical anthropology, to learn new things and inspire new ideas. Some may ask in such and each, why do you still even need cameras? Our smartphone are adept to taking good pictures. Then the question is what constitute a good photograph? Is photography just a documentation of Events, memory of a person and place or is it an art form. Before the invention of photography, people use artwork and painting to depict scenes record history. They also use painting to compose and create art. So depends on what you do all your preference,photography allows you to record your memories just like Kodak advertisement tech N9ne from the 80s.

It has also inspired curiosity and a desire to learn new things, including physical anthropology. Photography has the ability to capture important events, preserve memories, and serve as an art form. While smartphones are capable of taking good pictures, the question remains: what makes a good photograph? Before the invention of photography, people relied on artwork and paintings to depict scenes and record history. Paintings were also used to create artistic compositions. Therefore, the value of photography depends on personal preference and purpose. It allows you to document memories, just like the Kodak advertisements from the 80s used to say.
